The Water Efficiency Trial will use a combination of tools and measures to improve our understanding of water use in and around people’s homes in Scotland.
With the project gathering consumption data for a number of years we hope to gain a greater depth of information on how customer consumption patterns and behaviours respond to a range of water efficiency measures than has been posible before
The project will also look to measure the relative cost / benefit of each of these measures.
Etive Technologies were chosen to work with Scottish Water on this important project due to their proven track record in delivering innovative projects in the housing sector across the UK.
We are looking to recruit 2,000 new and recently built houses to the trial.
Etive have been responsible for promoting the trial and recruiting house builders and Housing Associations to the project.
Customers who take part in the trial have a monitor and data logger installed on their supply pipes to measure how much water they use and when. Signals from these smart monitors will be sent by text message to provide a greater depth of information than would be possible from simple monitors. There is also the benefit that there will be no need for anyone to call round to take readings.
Etive will host, collate and present the data in a format which will enable trends to be easily seen.
